Hi. Thank you for this very informative video. I have followed your setup completely but I have a problem with the machine not homing. When I try to home it the Z axis moves up by 1mm and the x and y axis do not move at all. Ha anyone had a similar problem and what to do to correct it.

First off, thank you so much for the videos you have made and knowledge you are willing to share. I am in the process of setting up my xpro v5 controller and ran into an issue with my hard limits (homing switches). They are wired NC & I have updated the firmware with the appropriate XYYZ_NC file. I am also using CNCjs (couldn't get very far with Universal G-code sender). If i activate a limit on the axis that is moving, it stops the axis like it should. When I send a "?" command, I receive this" <IDLE/MPos:143.880, -213.408, 55.000/FS:0,0/Pn:XYZ>" which tells me the limits are active, correct? I think that is my problem....? But if they are stopping the machine when I press one, why do they show active when not pressed? did I miss a setting in the initial set up?

This looks like exactly the video I'm going to need for wiring my tabletop plasma cutter. But I have a question I ordered the ec300 card with MPG controller from AliExpress. I ordered motor drivers and power supplies as well. I still have to order a 5 volt power supply. I found one online which is 5 amp. Would this be too many amps for the ec300? Is there anything else I should know about an ec300 controller versus a uc300 controller where are they close to the same? Thanks for any advice I've never wired or build a CNC before but I think I have the basics of it. Thanks again. Subscribed.

Very nice walk-through on the assembly of the QueenAnt machine. What size/sku# are the ball screw bearings in the end plates? I haven’t been able to find that info on their website.

I've been experimenting with the settings on my VFD, particularly the PD014 acceleration time. The reason why I started to set it differently than the suggested value is that I had some Voltage drop and I was thinking with slower acceleration, I may can avoid the ELun error. Despite adjusting it to various values like 10, 50, or 150, I'm not seeing any noticeable changes in the acceleration time. I was only able to start the spindle to 220Hz and not above. Interestingly, I was able to adjust the deceleration time without any issues. I tried PD043 to create a slow non linear ramp up, but I had no luck, it only had an effect on the deceleration. Can anyone help me, what am I missing? Could be there some another setting that might be overriding the acceleration time? I was also thinking to set PD142 to lower than 8, and other than loosing output, could it help preventing the ELun error? PD151 sounded like a solution, but no luck there also. I know I should start fixing the electricity around my workshop instead of risking melting down anything, but until Winter is on, I can't dig holes for new cabling and it would be super awesome to run my cnc even with limited power

Hi. Thanks for the video, a great help. Just one small issue, building the Z plate, the video calls for 2 x 35mm m5 bolts, 4 x 9mm spacers and 4 x 1mm shims. Something is wrong, the bolts will not reach the nylock nuts. Should it be longer bolts or should it be smaller spacers? Hope you can help, thanks.

Hi, I have almost completed my first CNC build now using an xPro V5 with HY VFD, a 1.5kw spindle, but have run into an issue with controlling the spindle from the xPro V5 via the HY VFD. I am able to control the spindle directly from the VFD, I can start, speed it up, I can slow it down and stop etc. All of my stepper motors and limit switches work fine via the xPro V5 (I have been using CNCjs software to control the machine). However I cannot get the spindle to respond via the xPro V5. I have been trying for 2 days now to get it to work. It will not spin. Is anyone out there able to help me?

Very good video, an actual Bible for QueenAnt bulders, everyone uses this video for their builds! Thank you very much! At 50:21 you check squareness and at 50:28 you dislocate the spindle with your first move. Anyways it is not your fault completely. This design makes it hard to reach and tighten those mounting screws because the spindle is in the way. You can easily strip any of those spindle holding screws because you cannot hold the screwdriver straight only angled (as you also do in the video) while tightening or untightening. This makes spindle tramming adjustments a very tedious job on this machine (and the results most of the times is some prematurely worn screws and a not 100% perpendicular spindle). You cannot remove the spindle for this maneuver from an already working machine because you should drain the water first from the cooling system to do that which is not easy.And why would you remove the spindle for that anyways, when you need to measure perpendicularity with the spindle on? So you end up realizing you need to adjust those crews with the spindle mounted. But the room is so insufficient between the screw head and the spindle that even the head of a flexible screwdriver cannot fit in there completely. You can try fitting an Allen wrench there but you cannot make enough pressure on it before turning it because of the spindle, so you can easily strip your screws and get a stuck spindle position. Now Im trying to figure out a solution like f.e. using an other type of m5 8mm screw which can be grabbed with a wrench from the sides but the shape of the hole of those black 90 degree connectors make that difficult too. A more stable and less fiddly spindle holding method would be preferable in the future. There are a few other small things like this but the machine is good overall, worth buying.

I can run the spindle from my huanyang vfd itself, though. Everything is wired correctly and the switch is set to rs. Also Where it says spindle on the xpro box there is a green light as well. Thanks for the video. I have tried to follow it, but I am not able to control the spindle from the xPRO v5. A guide on for the controller github stresses that the serial connection must be done with a twisted pair cable, and that it needs 120 ohm terminators at both ends. I have done the programming of the VFD as per the guide provided by the xPRO v5 guide. The spindle moves if I switch the control to the front panel with the PD001 and PD002 commands, but will not work with these settings at 2 (communication port). I am considering using analog input, but not sure how to wire from the toolhead port on the controller to the VFD. Any ideas, or suggestions?
